In February 2010 the New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA) introduced new legislation to provide coverage of the production of Halal meat for export. One of the key requirements of this legislation is the need to show competency not only for the Muslim slaughtermen but also the Certifiers of the Halal process.
A number of Unit Standards have been created and registered on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework to meet these competency requirements.
Training for these Unit Standards and also assessment can be accessed through this site. |
